A cool and quiet Monday morning, the beginning of a gorgeous day. The fog is gone from everywhere but the river.

A few minutes later, the fog was gone.

At the right is what used to be the Athens Lunatic Asylum; now it's a museum. At the left are modern buildings housing the business school and related buisness assistance organizations. Infrared, of course. I like the moon -- Luna -- above the lunatic asylum. They're related. You can look it up.

At first I was taken with the red standpipe fittings at the left, but later I found the oddly placed door to be more -- how to put it? -- inviting . . .

Nice -- well, hot -- spring evening. The distortion (and the slight banding, dammit) are a result of the method (and in the case of the banding, the camera) used to make the picture. The runway is actually straight!

Sometimes, black-and-white is better, or at least a little more dramatic.

This is the color version, slightly differently composed. Which do you prefer?

Cold, not much traffic, somehow possessed of a melancholy beauty, though. It's what the world looks like when a visit is over and a friend's plane has taken off. JPEG straight out of camera, no processing at all. As usual.
