The newest member of the Athens Police Mounted Patrol, Mayor Steve Patterson, even had a specially monogrammed saddle blanket.

In lieu of the normal helmet, this Summit County Mounted Patrol deputy donned a patriotic do-rag. It wasn't the only thing new with the mounted patrol at this year's Palmer Fest.

And, wouldn't you know, it was Saturday.
