The nymphs dig themselves out of the ground They then climb the trunk of the nearest tree They split their shells down the back It is a tight squeeze, but they're soft Their wings start to extend Some begin to crawl away from their shells Still inflating They develop color within the first hour or so The inflation continues Almost ready But carpenter ants interrupt the process for some More ants join the party Soon, they're dragging away the pieces But the vast majority make it all the way They're harmless, and kind of cute Ready to fly, mate, and die The shell is left behind Marie Newberry Weeks later, another moltling Two on a twig, in infrared She hadn't eaten at the diner, so if it's heartbur… Audience members seemed pleased Is this the face of a president?
