Here's hope for you

This weekend, tensions between young black men and police officers were as high as they have ever been. It would be easy to see that conflict in this picture, right down to the mourning band on the officer's badge. But that would be a mistake. The two are buying Christmas presents together, in the Athens, Ohio, "Shop with a Cop" festivity in which police officers take underprivileged young people shopping -- and help pay for the purchases. Here, the officer and his youthful charge are looking for items for the young man's three sisters. And the only tension was in finding just the right presents.
