Motorcycle memorial for Marjorie

Legendary guitarist Jorma Kaukonen led the way as the Fur Peace Ranch Motorcycle Club headed down Ohio Rt. 690 in eastern Athens County Saturday during the club's annual ride over 114 miles of Meigs and Athens county highways.
Conducted for more than a decade, the American Motorcycle Association sanctioned ride never had a formal title until now. Beginning this year, it is the Marjorie Thompson Memorial Ride in honor of longtime and beloved Fur Peace Ranch teacher Marjorie Thompson, who died last Monday.
On his blog Kaukonen eulogized her as "my colleague and my rabbi in so many ways... There may another star in the firmament tonight, but I would that it be here instead." Held in conjunction with the music school's "Pick-n-Putt" weekend, the ride takes place each year in late summer or early autumn.
[I should note that Marjorie didn't care for motorcycles, but naming the event after her was a lovely gesture anyway.]
