Tiny person with tiny caterpillar

I was making pictures this evening of the kids at vacation Bible school. A very little girl, probably five years old but maybe younger, came up with "a baby catepillar that just hatched." It was so small that I couldn't see it, and I wondered if she were making it up. I didn't have the macro lens, so I got as close as I could with the short zoom I was using. The circle shows a full-resolution crop of the small bump in the stem by her finger. It's . . a baby caterpillar! I predict that this observant little girl will grow up to be a remarkable grownup, if the world doesn't dull her senses.
