Wisconsin Graduation
Warming up the crowd
Jamming before the show
The reunion show begins
There were more than two-dozen players in all
The flattops step forward
A good crowd for a small town
So many guitars . . .
Not even emphysema . . .
. . . and the audience responded enthusiastically
Everybody had a turn or two
Her husband "Speck" no longer plays . . .
Few eyes remained dry . . .
"This one's in 'D'"
Greg Coen organized the reunion . . .
Most of the players were born and raised here . .…
A band with three banjos . . .
The songs and the singers were remembered by all
Gettin' down . . .
In bluegrass . . .
It was a family event . . .
Looking back and remembering
Of the ten best songs ever written . . .
Lining
The hardware got installed
I decided on stain and urethane
Lip and kerfed strips, all dry
Rescued again by luck
Replacing the metal lip
Whew!
The whole process is repeated for the top
The result so far
And the same thing for the bottom
Outside filler pieces
The result
Then I did the sides
First piece
Here's the problem
The original case is marked
Mostly done, back view
Mostly done, front view
The neck is loosely fitted
A dab hand is needed . . .
The tension hoop is added
Time for a new calfskin head

And it fits!

Observers might note that this is a left-handed case. The instrument is left-handed, and I'm left-handed, so why not? I'd added a cover to the acessory box, and a strip to keep the top from flopping back when the case is opened. It has worked out well and people have inquired about my making them such a case. Which I would happily do -- prices start at $5,000!
