Slate Islands 2017
Folder: Holidays Scotland
The Clachan Bridge
aka Bridge over the Atlantic. This bridge (built 1792) connects the Isle of Seil to the mailand.
A path between quarries
Easdale is a tiny island on the west coast of Scotland which is famous, along with the neighbouring "Slate Islands", for providing roofing slates for places all around the world.
Walking to Ellenabeich
This path, between the sea and one of Seil's ex-slate quarries, is made up of lots of bits of slate - waste from the quarrying process. The buildings on the left are on the island Easdale.
The Easdale wheelbarrows
When the island has no roads, what better way to move your stuff around for the 60 inhabitants.
Looking West from Luing
This is a stitched panorama of 11 images.
There's loads of things to spot in this. Looking from left to right some of the things you can (possibly) see:
Cullipool (village), Scarba (island), Fladda (island with light house), Calmac ferry (Colonsay to Oban), Mull, Easdale (island), Ellenabeich (village on Seil)
