Dying sunflowers
This year's photo adventure in France begins with the sorry sight of dying sunflowers. The area we stayed in seemed to mostly grow sunflowers and corn and unfortunately almost all the sunflowers we saw were in their final stages of life, so this year I had to adapt to taking dying ones!
Haystacks
Its not so common to see hay stacks these days (usually just get cylinders of hay!), so I was pleased to spot this field of them.
French door, and window!
Another in my occasional series of doors and windows - this time featuring both!
Eglise Saint-Étienne, Ars-en-Ré
The bell tower of this church is painted this way to act as a marker for ships - it works, as can be seen below:
Phare des Baleines Lighthouse on Île-de-Ré
Looks like it'd just had a fresh coat of red paint at the top!

A duck passes by just above a weir in the river.
