Dawn was breaking over Ben Rinnes as we headed off for the start of our eight mile section of the Speyside Way, from Craigellachie to Knockando. It was hovering around freezing - ideal for testing the new Icebreaker merino wool underlayers and Berghaus High tech outer layers the kids bought me for my birthday.
