Imari porcelain charger

So who knows anything about Japanese Imari porcelain? This large charger used to hang on the wall of my guardian's home in Edinburgh. His daughter, my cousin, died recently, aged 88, and her daughter passed it on to me, as I could remember it from early childhood. Wikipedia tells me: Imari ware (伊万里焼 Imari-yaki?) is a type of Arita ware (有田焼 Arita-yaki?) traditionally made in the town of Arita, in the former Hizen Province, northwestern Kyūshū. They were exported to Europe extensively from the port of Imari, Saga, between the second half of the 17th century and the first half of the 18th century.
I have absolutely no idea how far back it goes in the family's ownership, or how it was obtained initially. I do know my aunt dropped it, smashing it into pieces, and that my father glued it all back together again, so that my uncle wouldn't notice, and I don't think he ever did, so if it was ever worth very much, it ain't now, apart from sentimental value!
