Yesterday took us on the Moray Coastal Trail from Burghead to Covesea Village, via Sculptor's Cave - 9.2 miles. It is a trail meandering along the top of a long stretch of cliffs on the south side of the Moray Firth, with their bases riddled with caves, many of which were in use in the Bronze Age, for burial and other ritualistic functions. Many of the bays and beaches are hard to reach, and so rather secluded and not awash in either tourists or locals. Try googling "Sculptor's Cave, Moray" for information on the archaeological finds in these caves.
