Potato and Onion Pakoras

1 large onion, 1 large potato, a handful of fresh spinach, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp coriander seeds crushed, 4tbsp Gram Flour, 1 green chilli chopped up, 2 tbsps lemon juice, or plain yoghurt, 1 tsp salt or to taste.
Roughly slice the onion and thinly slice the potato into straws. Mix all the other ingredients in a bowl and add the onions and potatoes to it and mix well to cover all the ingredients in gram flour (add more gram flour if at this stage there is insufficient. Gradually add water to the mixture so it has a thick consistency. Heat 1 litre of vegetable oil in a pan until it is very hot (or use deep fryer 190°C). Using a tablespoon gradually add scoops of the mixture to the pan and fry until crisp. You may need to do this in batches if you are not using a deep fryer. You can use most veg for this, cauliflower, broccoli etc. They can be frozen but need to be reheated in an oven not a microwave.
