For the Spider Lovers amongst you!

ID would be great - this brute stalks our bedroom. 40mm from tip of front legs to back of back legs and 30mm across. Great pattern on its back., and rather thick-legged.
What is it? I am advised that this is one of the large species of Tegenaria (house spider).
