Pseudocamellia Stewartia at dusk, autumn.
"This wildly handsome tree has several interesting features. It has a flaking bark which takes on pink, brown and grey tones. There are single flowers which resemble a simple cup-shaped camellia and are borne in midsummer. If the weather agrees with the tree it produces yellow and red autumn colour. The sinuous bark is a delight all through winter. It is best in a sunny woodland site on lime-free soil. Its other curiosity is that the leaves present a matt upper surface and a shiny under one."
