Dunollie Lighthouse overlooked by Dunollie Castle. Clan chiefs and Lords of Lorn ruled over a large part of Argyll for over 1000 years from Dunolli. It remains the seat and ancestral home of Clan MacDougall.

Taken at the Mull of Galloway on a beautiful, hot day. On the left of the picture you can just see the foghorn and a small but very necessary fence leading down towards it Best viewed large, I think. The Corran Point Lighthouse at Ardgour, - an image from the archives. The Corran Ferry near Fort William in Scotland, crosses Loch Linnhe at the Corran Narrows, travelling across to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. It is a well used service and although only a short distance as the crow flies, the ferry saves a car journey of over and hour between Corran and Ardgour. Captured at the Crinan Basin this pretty little lighthouse marks the western entrance to the 9 mile long Crinan Canal connecting Crinan to Ardrishaig and the Sound of Jura. Built in 1851 this tapered hexagonal cement rendered tower has an iron railed gallery and wooden lantern with pyramidal roof and filial and is fitted with an external ladder. Modern navigational lights are in place On a lovely sunny day the bench affords a lovely place to sit and enjoy the view, - or maybe just take a nap like the person seated on the left, but I am taking a nap so please don't turn out the lights!!
