A super shot Doug and very cleverly captured. The ligh on the wall gives emphasis to the couple and I love the sharp contrast between light and shade. The pathway being in total shade makes it look steeper than it probably is and makes it look like the couple are descending into the darkness. Beautifully done. HFF and have a good weekend

This view is not of The Pends, Doug, byt is beautiful nevertheless. An amazing clear sky and lovely light and shade.

Oh I see from the map that this pathway is called The Pends. That's not what I knew it as. ;-)
I always knew The Pends as the mid 14th century large stone gatehouse nearby.

I have to agree with you Amelia, my Mum always told me the same. On the map both parts are referred to as the Pends. My money would by on those who have lived in there.
