... war die Sommerresidenz von Äbten des Zisterzienserklosters Ebrach im Steigerwald. Es wurde ab 1716 erbaut und ist ein typischer Repräsentationsbau der Barockzeit. Seit 1903 ist es im Besitz der Familie von Dungern. 1985 kaufte die Gemeinde Knetzgau mit Unterstützung des Freistaates Bayern das Schloss vom derzeitigen Baron von Dungern mit der Absicht, die alte Sommerresidenz der Ebracher Äbte in zeitgemäßer Nutzung wieder zu beleben. Es beherbergt zur Zeit ein Restaurant und ein Museum.

It has been owned by the von Dungern family since 1903. In 1985, with the support of the Land of Bavaria, the community of Knetzgau bought the castle from the current Baron von Dungern with the intention of reviving the old summer residence of the Ebracher abbots in a modern use. It currently houses a restaurant and a museum.
