Eine interessante Darstellung der Verkündigung an Maria sieht man auf dem Tympanon des Nordportals der Marienkapelle Würzburg: Der Hauch des Geistes geht als gedrehter Schlauch vom Mund Gott Vaters zum linken Ohr Marias und endet mit der Taube des Heiligen Geistes. Auf diesem Strahl eilt Jesus als kleines Kind bäuchlings zu Maria. Die Darstellung symbolisiert die Empfängnis durch das Hören der Worte.

An interesting illustration of the annunciation can be seen on the tympanum of the north portal of the Marienkapelle Würzburg: The breath of the Spirit comes as a twisted hose from the mouth of God the Father to the left ear of Mary and ends with the dove of the Holy Spirit. On this ray rushes Jesus as a child prone to Maria. The illustration symbolizes the conception by listening to the words.
