Hertfordshire. Lost Country Houses

Built for the Bavarian born artist and pioneer film director/maker Sir Hubert von Herkomer, from a sketch design by the great American architect Henry Hobson Richardson c1890-1894.The name of the English architect responsible for the detailed drawings has not been traced although Herkomer himself designed much of the interior. The house was never really occupied after Herkomer's death in 1914.
