Stoke Edith, Herefordshire (Burnt 1927, demolished c1950)

Stoke Edith was famous for its fine murals and ceiling paintings by Sir James Thornhill. It was burnt in a spectacular fire in 1927. Work eventually started on its restoration and the exterior was largely completed before WWII. It then stood empty and was demolished probably in the 1950s.
