Mount Pleasant House, No.3 Sharrow Lane, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Mount Pleasant House, No.3 Sharrow Lane, Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Mount Pleasant House was once in open countryside but is now stranded like a beached whale amongst the Edwardian terraced houses of southern suburban Sheffield. It was restored in the 1970s but is now looking decidedly neglected.

Thanks for the information; I doubt that the house had a long life as a family home. Sharrow was once a very fashionable area as it is located on a hill overlooking the old centre of Sheffield. I would have thought by the mid nineteenth century however pollution would have driven the wealthy further out into neighbouring villages. Their are a couple of other big houses like this in southern Sheffield . Abbeydale House is similarly surrounded by suburban houses
