Possibly Kings Own Scottish Borderers

My latest auction bargin is a group of photographs of two, probably Scottish soldiers, which appear to date from the period 1901-1914 (the words 'Kings Own' rather than 'Queens Own' can be made out on one of the pics so they must be post 1901) ; their uniform is quite unusual, and any help you can give me when I upload the rest (probably next week) will be much appreciated.
