The home of Mr Gilson Martin (land agent to the Duke of Devonshire), Edensor, Derbyshire

Gilson Martin (1830-1908) was the Lincolnshire born land agent for the Chatsworth estate for around 27 years. He married Elizabeth Mawyer of Horncastle and had two children Frederick (1860- ) and Mary (1863-1922) the message on the back of this card says 'don't you think this very good of father and Don. Ernest has not come out at all well.' The Martins are buried in the upper part of Edensor Churchyard.
