Toronto Islands (auch Toronto Island, Toronto Island Park oder einfach 'the Island' genannt), eine Gruppe von 15 kleinen Inseln im Lake Ontario, direkt vor Downtown Toronto.
In 15 Minuten gelangt man mit der Fähre vom Jack Layton Ferry Terminal zu einer der drei Anlegestellen auf Toronto Islands.

Auf den Inseln gibt es Spazier- und Fahrradwege, Badestrände (gemäss der Stadtverwaltung: 'we have some of the cleanest beaches in the world'), Restaurants, Picknick- und Grillplätze, Sportmöglichkeiten (u.a. ein Discgolf-Platz) und Spielplätzen usw., im Sommer finden Konzerte und Freiluftveranstaltungen statt.
Auf dem westlichsten Teil von Toronto Islands befindet sich der City Airport (Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport) und der Strand von Hanlan's Point, wo im Sommer oft relativ wilde Partys usw. stattfinden.

An schönen Sommertagen besuchen bis zu 32.000 Menschen Toronto Islands (Einheimische und Touristen)!

Toronto Island bietet soooo viele schöne Blicke zurück auf die Stadt und da kommen bei mir immer sentimentale Gefühle auf ... ich hatte zu Beginn der 1980er Jahre eine sehr schöne Zeit in Toronto ...
