Am Donnerstag, den 9. Juli 2015, brach nach einem Blitzschlag im Maligne Valley ein Waldbrand aus, siehe Berichte wildfiretoday.com vom 2015-07-10 und A look back at Jasper park’s Excelsior wildfire.

Auszug aus '2015 Annual Report - Jasper National Park of Canada':
... A lightning strike came to life as the Excelsior Wildfire on July 9, 2015 in the Maligne Valley, approximately 15 km southeast of the Town of Jasper. At its peak, there were 120 people, including an Incident Management Team, working to extinguish the fire. The final fire size was 966 hectares (almost 10 km2). ...

Langsam erholt sich der Wald von dem Ereignis, neue Flora breitet sich aus. Wie es sich weiter entwickelt ist jedoch (noch) unklar.

P.S. Dies war (dank viel Glück) ein relativ kleines Ereignis gegenüber den Bränden vom Sommer 2023 ...

Hab's auf den ersten Blick (musste ja auch auf die Strasse schauen) gar nicht gemerkt, dass das Waldbrandgebiet von 2015 ist - es war doch schon wieder recht viel Grün vorhanden und die Bäume nicht mehr alle schwarz.
Beim zweiten Hinschauen wurd's dann schon klar ...
