This area is where General George Armstrong Custer (marker with black, near center) died.
Little Bighorn is the site of one of the plains Indians last battles against the US Government, and their greatest victory. Crazy Horse and others of the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Lakota Sioux tribes killed 263 American soldiers and allied Indian scouts in battle.
