Arikara Indian Gravestones, Little Bighorn National Monument


Site of the greatest defeat of US forces in the Indian Wars - general George Armstrong Custer lost his life and 5 of the 7th Cavalry's regiments were completely annihilated. It was a major victory for the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapahoe Indians.
These gravesites belong to Arikara Indian scouts who served in the US Army.
