CNWX 260696

CNWX 260696
Chicago and Northwestern MoW gondola, now Union Pacific. The CNWX reporting mark is currently used by the Canadian Wheat Board. I believe C&NW stopped using CNWX in 1961, meaning this car has quite a history. A picture of this car in Illinois in 2006 can be found here: www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=11473

Reporting marks ending in X are "supposed" to be reserved for non-railroad entities which own railcars. However, in this case, clearly the C&NW railroad owned this car, so there are exceptions to this rule.
