wireweed

(Polygonum aviculare) We have this weed growing all over our gravelled yard. It makes a big rosette and has a white taproot. Not too hard to get out, and the pigs are crazy for it. Finally had it identified, in case it is dangerous. The wonderfully knowledgeable Lewis Hiller on Plant Identification Australia identified it as "wireweed" on this page". Pigs are not mentioned in the article, but we will ration them just the same.
