lost racing pigeon

It took us a few days to realise that having a pigeon in the yard was actually pretty unusual - we never have them here. It kept getting into our chicken coop and I realised it had rings on its feet. We caught it, and rang the 1300 number of one of the rings. They told us it was a lost racing pigeon and asked me to read out the other letters and numbers on the ring. They rang the club its owner was a member of, and they would contact him. We kept him in the cat cage for a night, but let him out in the morning. More than a week later and he is still here, eating birdseed and waiting for a courier willing to come out this far to take him back to Sydney,
