white hen & her chicks

First hatching of the season. She went broody so we put 4 eggs under her all all 4 hatched. A big surprise, as we weren't sure all (if any) of the eggs would be fertile; we have one rooster and 23 hens, so there was no chance Highlander had managed to woo ALL of them. The other hen who went broody sat of 5 eggs, none of which turned out to be fertile. (PS note Fonzie looking longingly at the chicks from the outside of the broody box)
