baby wombat Tess & Sandy

Maru wildlife park in Grantville raises orphaned baby wombats like Tess. We generally see a roadkill adult wombat about once a week around here (LOTS of wombats). Even if the mother is killed, the baby in the pouch can survive. You should always check in the pouch of roadkill marsupials. I found a live baby wombat (not my roadkill - someone else's) earlier in 2009 and had it collected by wildlife rescue. (You can only raise them if you are certified to do so.)
