warmth buffer

We only have a wood stove for our heating in the living area (well, we have other heaters, but we don't bother to use them, as we're mainly in the living/dining area). After our first winter here, we realised we were losing a lot of warmth from this area into the corridor, but a door to the kitchen isn't practical, so we hung a thick curtain there instead. The dogs & cats can get through it and so can we, without needing to use our hands to open a door. It makes a huge difference to our heat retention.
