Piñera won - did Chile?

maybe Frei was not a good candidate, but it should be definitely forbidden, that one of the richest men of a country, who ownes TV-stations and an airline can reach the highest political function as the president. it's the same scandal as in italy, it's a similar scandal as in the US, where the big companies "buy" there politicians like we go in the supermarket and buy bread and milk.......politicians have to be independent, people wake up!

reminds me of the Message to the Tricontinental.
"Our Arnerica is integrated by a group of more or less homogeneous countries and in most parts of its territory U.S. monopolist capitals maintain an absolute supremacy. Puppet governments or, in the best of cases, weak and fearful local rulers, are incapable of contradicting orders from their Yankee master. The United States has nearly reached the climax of its political and economic domination; it could hardly advance much more; any change in the situation could bring about a setback. Their policy is to maintain that which has already been conquered."
