Ich glaub die haben da früher mit explosiven Gasen herumgewerkt, da wäre Rauchen kontraproduktiv gewesen ;-)

Great image, Berny. I looked up Wikipedia and found "The reaction of calcium carbide with water was the basis of the industrial manufacture of acetylene,". So there would indeed have been real risks associated with smoking.
