Wonderful industrial history, do you know what it was ?

All machines were belt driven from one or few axles at that time. I suppose - like Peter below - the one part is a crankshaft of a steam engine. There were many sheep shearers in a row working with mechanical driven machines, for instance.

sieht gut aus - auch wenn ich keinen Sinn in der Anlage erkenne....

Hat vermutlich was mit dem Antrieb der Schafscherapparate zu tun. Ansonsten gan es noch Pressen und Verpackungsmaschinen. Wie Peter schrieb, der eine Teil schaut wie eine Kurbelwelle einer Dampfmaschine aus.

also mein erster Gedanke bei dem roten aufrechten Teil war: Kühler einer Distille ;-))))))))))))

Interesting machinery. I suspect the background machine is the steam engine to drive the system, with the black pipes to it providing the steam. In the foreground a spare/used crankshaft with drive pulleys identical to those on the background machine.
