El Hierro - aerial

El Hierro is the smallest and with 1.2 Mio. years youngest island of the Canares. It emerged after 3 huge eruptions and is 5000 m high above the sea ground. The morphology today is characterized by countless volcanic cones and several giant landslides resulting in up to 1200 m high steep slopes from the green plateau to the sea.
