Kurz vor seinem 66sten Geburtstag starb gestern morgen mein bester Freund und Bergkamerad. Bei unseren Touren hat er jede Herausforderung gemeistert. Doch Covid-19 war für seinen von einer Chemotherapie geschwächten Körper unüberwindbar. Bis bald, Detlev!

Das Holzkreuz habe ich bei einer gemeinsamen Tour auf dem Grat hoch über der Strada delle 52 Gallerie in den Dolomiten fotografiert. Hier kamen 1917 und 1918 zig-tausende Soldaten in einem völlig sinnlosen Stellungskrieg ums Leben.

So sad, always sad... I lost almost all my old friends in the past 10 years, it is a heavy burden to carry. Keep nice memories is the only cheerful thing left to the survivers.
