Book review

"CANÇÃO DERRUÍDA"/"FALLEN SONG", by Mar BECKER, a Brazilian Poet, after all it's indestructible, an earthquake-proof composition doesn't crumble, solid, came to stay and make itself heard.
It seems impossible that after so many years of reading so many world poets, by happy chance, I found Mar BECKER on Facebook, and realized that despite this heavy heritage, there are still original voices that give new expression to what has been said and endlessly repeated, with enough power to surprise and delight us. That's right, years and years of reading stumbling poets and, suddenly, a single book in my hands.
It will not be definitive, nor will explain human and universal essence, but it is an ode to woman and love so unbelievable, intense, beautiful, and complete that life (and death) is truly justified. The poet reaches the whole surrounding her and herself aware through her family, or rather, the women in general and relative ones, from whom men are deliberately omitted; they appear as a background, circumstantially, like objects of desire and, "perhaps", worthy of being loved.
A final word to stress this matriarchal poetry is truly unusual and almost divine, a stone in the puddle of false talent that drowns us. Just look at this marvel:
"I could say I love your name to the mouth
I could talk about the times when morning comes
and I look for it
and make it the first played word
but not. what I say is all is born from love is fragile
there are mornings when I find myself on the verge of your name
and I'm not capable of hurting it
with my voice"
