FLY-KILLING PAPER

as a friend of mine said---
loneliness can be a blessing---
but it can also be suicidal

while suiciders don't commit suicide
they spend their time looking for
a companion on Facebook
which is a fly-killing paper
slimy
and gross
that grabs us and lets us struggle
until the final agony
as if we had our neck stuck
in a medieval pillory

passam o tempo à procura
de companhia no Facebook
que é um papel de matar moscas
viscoso
e nojento
agarra-nos e deixa-nos a estrebuchar
até à agonia final
como se tivéssemos o pescoço preso
num pelourinho medieval
