Shadows

Shadows
took over
the boy.

It was difficult to choose
between poetry and death.

You know,
it's my fault
that I anchored the light
in your smile.

Then, I brought you
the fire.

And when you aren't with me
sleep is a dirty place
and the night makes
a faceless insomnia.

I look for a position
to fall asleep

and loneliness hurts
as a bone
eternally out of place.

tomaram conta
do menino.

Foi difícil escolher
entre a poesia e a morte.

Sabes,
a culpa é minha
que ancorei a luz
no teu riso.

Depois, trouxe-te
o lume em visita.

E quando não estás comigo
o sono é um lugar sujo
e a noite fabrica
uma insónia sem rosto.

Procuro uma posição
para adormecer.

e a solidão dói
como um osso
eternamente fora do sítio.
