STILL LIFE WITH WORDS

There is a room
with only a table and a chair in it
and sometimes
a vase of flowers
that is carried into the room
by no more than these words
and set down on the table,
red flowers and yellow flowers
that brighten the whole poem.

NATUREZA MORTA COM PALAVRAS
Há uma sala
só com uma mesa e uma cadeira
e às vezes
uma jarra de flores
posta na sala
por nada mais do que estas palavras
e as flores vermelhas e amarelas
pousadas na mesa
abrilhantam o poema inteiro.
