Keep Clear?

Or not. We didn't take the boat trip out to the Rock this time around, but mountain biking over the GG bridge was fun.

Much Photographed Tree and Rock

This Jeffrey pine tree and glacial erratic seem to feature in a lot of photos taken from Olmsted point.

Olmsted View I
Yosemite Granite
|
|
Typical Yosemite scenery a few minutes walk from Olmsted point viewing area. Quite different to anything I ever seen before.
Tunnel View
|
|
Another famous Yosemite view that I've waited for a long time to get to see for myself.
Not really the best light and no waterfall, but can't really not have a go - and on the way back there were uniform grey rain clouds.

No Longer Standing

Rather sad to see what was no doubt a magnificent tree now become a charred and rather large log.
Mariposa Grove, Yosemite NP
Charred

Interesting textures on a felled tree presumably killed by fire.

Geometrical Trees

Tree forms of the imagination. The 'interesting' sky was actually a warning of an approaching storm.

A Familiar Profile
|
|
A familiar view even though this trip was the first time I had set eyes on Half Dome. Seen here early in the morning while descending the Panorama trail from Glacier Point.

An Unfamiliar Profile

Half Dome looking a little different from this angle on the Panorama Trail.
