With Seekofel providing a backdrop.

Mountain Morning

18 Sep 2017 107
First glimpse of some blue skies and snow dusted peaks. Sadly not to last the day. Kreuzbergpass, Dolomites.

Fortification

Fortified and camouflaged bunker, part of the Italian Alps Wall here near the Kreuzberg Pass. The fortifications were built by Mussolini in the years leading up to WW2 to protect Italy from the Germans.

Into the Mist

18 Sep 2017 123
Fortunately we never quite got there, although it did get a little chilly, and then became a little damp. The Austrian border is just a small distance away.

Summer Snow

19 Sep 2017 106
Well only just summer, and we are at around 2000m. Very atmospheric, although there wasn't much urge to linger in any one place for long. Prato Piazza, Dolomites.

The Easy Way Down

19 Sep 2017 128
Given the weather conditions, we opted for the easy descent from the Dürrensteinhütte where we had recently been warming up. Dolomites.
