A photo of flowers in the garden for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.
Handwritten note (above left): "Eleanor Henderson, Eva, Texas Co., Okla., Oct. 24, 1914." There's no message or address on the back of this real photo postcard.
Little Eleanor posed with her dog among the flowers and plants, all rendered in blue due to the cyanotype photo processing.

Circus Elephants on Parade
|
|
|
Heading to the circus at the Vintage Photos Theme Park .
Elephants walk trunk to tail down the street as part of a parade to announce that the circus is in town.
As Circus World points out as part of its History of the Great Circus Parade , "Circuses would travel from town to town, quickly erect tents, do several performances, then move on to the next venue. As the circus entered a new city, people would gather to watch the wagons, exotic animals, and equestriennes roll by."
For another view of the same parade, see Circus Horses on Parade .
Two Relics of the Antediluvian Period

A mothers photo for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.
Nelson P. Smith displayed a playful sense of humor with a mischievous message on this real photo postcard dated April 10, 1910. I'm guessing that the photo is a portrait of his wife and son.
Mrs. Matilda Maria Thomas
Exhibit No. 16390
Ladies and Gent:
You have here before you two relics of the Antediluvian period just discovered in a small town, situated in a swamp in Florida, supposed to be the descendants of mound builders or some extinct race. Look like mother and son. Ages supposed to be son, 4 mos., April 10/10.

A Boy Scout Salute in the Living Room
|
|
|
An example of color photos or slides for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.
A Boy Scout gives a three-finger salute while wearing his uniform as he poses for a photo in a living room with distinctive furniture and decor dating to the 1960s. The same sofa and wall decorations appear in a pre-prom photo , and the same boy appears with his sister in a Christmas photo .
Gunfight at Big Rocks: Dale Evans with Buttermilk…

A Kodachrome slide dated July 1959.
This little gunfighter is wearing a Dale Evans cowgirl hat as she holds her toy gun and prepares to take aim at the bad guys. Perhaps she's pretending that her toy horse is Buttermilk , Dale's trusty steed on TV's The Roy Rogers Show (1951-57), and her pet collie is Lassie , the canine star of the popular and long-lasting television show (1954-73).

A Kodachrome slide dated July 1959.
Still grasping her toy gun, this Dale Evans wannabe--with Buttermilk and Lassie by her side--stands ready to defend Big Rocks against the bad guys.

Riding Toward the Sun: Dale Evans and Buttermilk

A Kodachrome slide dated July 1959.
After a hard day at the Big Rocks shootout, this diminutive Dale Evans has holstered her gun and is shielding her eyes as she heads toward the sun with Buttermilk (if she had waited until evening, she could have avoided the bright light and followed the conventional Western gunslinger practice of riding off into the sunset ).

The Baker Triplets, Dillsburg, Pa., 1898
|
|
|
|
"J. E. Taylor, 16 S. 2nd St., Dillsburg, Pa."
Handwritten notes on the back of this photo: "4 month old" (earlier note, in pencil). "The Baker Triplets, 'I think'" (later note, in pen).
As far as I have been able to determine, this cabinet card photo shows Rebecca, Sarah, and Adalene Baker, who were born on February 5, 1898, and lived in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania.
A brief article that appeared in the Reading Eagle on February 10, 1933, p. 19, identified the sisters only by their married names (I added their first names in brackets):
Berks Woman One of Triplet Sisters
York, Feb. 10 (Special).--Mrs. Walter Cassel [Rebecca], of Fleetwood, Berks County, is one of three triplet sisters, who observed their 35th birthday anniversary at the home of their mother, Mrs. Emma Baker, this county. The others of the triplets are Mrs. Clarence Spahr [Sarah], of this city, and Mrs. Ira Kimmel [Adalene], of Dillsburg. The three sisters were feted at a dinner and family gathering on the occasion of their birthday anniversaries.
