Studied Paris Conservatoire with Choron, Debut Odeaon 1825 as Almaviva 'Barber of Saville", Further study in italy 1829-1835 . Chosen by Donizetti to create Edgardo 'Lucia De Lammermoor" at Naples . Returned to paris created the lead role in "Benevuto Cellini" , Fernando "La Favorite" , Polyeucte 'Les Martyrs" and several other roles. 1842-1850 was Professor of Singing at Paris Conservatoire . In 1853 founded his own singing school , his pupils included his daughter Caroline Duprez, Caroline Miolan-Carvalho, Marie Battu, Mmes Marimon, Monrose, Nantier-Didiee and Albani . His wife Alexandrine Duperron and children Caroline and Leon were also singers
