Long Lagoon.
This is a hydro-electric dam, near the top of Estrela Sierra. The natural lagoon that regularly overflew downhill was turned into a dam in 1945.

It stands in the middle of a roundabout on the highest point of continental Portugal. Curiously it is accessible by car, unlike many lower mountains.
The highest point of Portugal is located at Pico (a 2,351 metres high peak), at Pico Island, Azores.

At Torre, the highest point of continental Portugal (1,991 metres).On top of that tower the altitude is 2,000 metres.
On the background you can see the buildings of a shopping centre, mostly of local products: cheese, smoked ham, sausages, honey, wool, pottery and souvenirs.
