On the edge of the historic centre of Warsaw (UNESCO heritage). The devastation of World War II left in ruins 85% of the city's buildings. The reconstruction took more than a decade and had in purpose rebuilt the historic centre with buildings identical to the destroyed ones, using old photos to reconstitute details that otherwise would have been lost.
