Avieiros' houses.

Avieiros were seaside fishers that spent the stormy seasons of autumn and winter on riversides (mostly of Tagus and Sado) where fishing could be pursued. They built palafitte wooden houses, as floods could occur, with 3 rooms: kitchen, dining room and bedroom, with curtains instead of doors between them. Some avieiros settled for good on the riverside, creating villages like this - Escaroupim, outskirts of Salvaterra de Magos.
